Southtown Wrecker began its journey in 1962 as Southtown Shell in South Bloomington. Founded by Cleveland Smith, the company evolved into Southtown Wrecker with the purchase of its first wrecker truck. Cleveland built a reputation for reliable towing and recovery services, earning the trust of residents and businesses alike. His commitment to hard work and dependable service laid the foundation for the company’s success.

Continuing the Tradition of Excellence

In 2022, Cleveland passed ownership to Eric Smith, who had served as Vice President since 1998. Under Eric’s leadership, Southtown Wrecker expanded its capabilities and embraced modern innovations, offering a wider range of services to meet the growing needs of Bloomington-Normal and the surrounding areas.

In 2024, Patrick Henson assumed ownership, continuing the company’s tradition of providing trusted, professional towing and recovery solutions. Today, Southtown Wrecker is proud to offer services ranging from light-duty and medium-duty towing to heavy-duty and super heavy-duty towing, as well as accident recovery, roadside assistance, and DOT drive-ins.
